Amelia Spruill, owner of Gem Lake Design is a Web Designer with a commitment to developing high quality original web sites.  With a background in business management and design,  Amelia brings an understanding of your business to your web development plans.

 Graphic design focused on the very different needs of web page design, ie. color use, palettes and compatibility, animation, small file sizes, screen viewing, file formats and type style considerations.
 Proficiency in HTML programming.  The hypertext language of the web.  Maintain familiarity with latest W3 approved coding and backwards compatibility.
 Web design and publishing tools, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Homesite, Quark Express, Pagemaker, Director, Word Perfect and many useful accessory programs, primarily handcode in Homesite or notepad.
 Javascript and basic CGI-Perl programming.
 Experience with the variety of web browsers and their benefits or limitations, including Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Opera, Mosaic, Lynx and AOL.

Business Management
Over ten years in a business management capacity primarily focused on sales, personnel, advertising and promotional materials, display, purchasing and client interaction.

Positions include Gallery Manager with Braswell Galleries, Connecticut's largest antique auction house.   Department Manager with Hay Day a nationally known county farm market.   Owner of Windborne, a specialty retail shop.  Production Manager for a high quality printing and copy shop.

In addition to design services also continue a Estate Sale management service and antique business as Sale by Amelia.  Complete business resume available.

Graphic Designer and Artist
Print related advertising work including artwork, typesetting, layout, lettering, photography and printing specs as an aspect of management responsibilities and freelance for a variety of private projects. Stained Glass Artist with a number of private installations around the U.S.  Continue to draw and paint privately although computer design has become focus.

Nonprofit
Vice President of Noel Foundation, a charitable trust dedicated to supporting a variety of humanity based organizations.  Committee Member with Kunta Kinte Celebrations, Inc. and in training to become a volunteer Master Gardener.

Education
Sarah Lawrence College, art, education.  Many special courses and seminars.

Etcetera
Gardener, especially old roses and perennials.   Avid antiques and art collector.   Recreational sailor.   Lead many group discussions and tours on subjects as diverse as antique stained glass, floral design, local history and architecture.   In partnership have had the opportunity to restore and decorate old houses.
