Our Business Philosophy

Gem Lake Web Design is a small independent business specializing in creative, quality web design and development.

We believe in honesty and professionalism in all our business arrangements and expect the same from our clients.  You can expect us to give you a fair price quote, valid and well thought out advice and to complete your project as promised and on time.  To avoid confusion and disputes, we require a signed contract detailing the responsibilities of both parties before starting business.

Gem Lake's owner,   Amelia Spruill has been working the web since late 1994 and has witnessed its growth firsthand.   She is thrilled that this wonderful resource is becoming available and affordable to everyone.   The ease and speed that the web and internet allow for the dissemination of information is truly the industrial revolution of the late 20th century.

One of the reasons that Amelia decided to become independent (besides the fun of feast and famine) was to have time to give back to the community.   To this end we generally accept a pro-bono project for a like minded non-profit organization once or twice a year,  feel free to contact us to discuss that further.

Amelia also has a special interest in helping other business women become web savvy.  She is happy to answer a question or lend a hand to someone.   To assist in this dissemination of information, Amelia's Virtual Tour is a collection of useful and interesting links for designers, women and people doing business online.
