Prepared by Amelia Toombs Spruill primarily for my own use during October 1996.   Last update August 25, 1999.

O.K, here's the info, I have been maintaining this list for well on four years now, and it is time to cut it back.   If you want an intensive list -- see BudgetWeb below.   I am just going to list the hosting folks that I think are great.  (There are a lot of other qualified hosting services,  I just don't have up to date information on the others anymore.)

Probably the best spot to look at for a list of hosting options is BudgetWeb They have a massive listing of different options with a break down of services, myself I find it all a little daunting.   Do take the time to look around though, there is a lot of information available.   They do accept advertising but I do Not have the impression that they are in anyway influenced - they describe themselves as a "free and independent service"

Two Services that I work closely with:
pair.com is a great organization with some really helpful, they are now the largest independently owned hosting service.   The web hosting service I offer my clients is maintained by pair.com, and I am a authorized reseller (provide all the services beyond hosting that they do not offer) and I am regularly pleased by their services.
Locally, I use Annapolis Net for dial-up access. They too have always been helpful and qualified.   Their hosting services are reasonably priced and are also worth considering.

Thanks for stopping by .
